A spectacular farewell – Alpina unveils its last and most powerful car

The tuning division known for its unique BMW modifications has unveiled its latest "standalone" car B8 GT. The company is completely transferred under the control of the "Bavarians". At the same time, Alpina celebrates its anniversary - 60 years since its foundation.

The "heart" of the new car is a 4,4-liter gasoline engine. The unit is made according to the V8 layout and is supplemented by a dual-turbo system. The power of the power plant reaches 643 hp with a peak torque of 850 Nm.

For reference, the engine has become the most powerful in the history of Alpina. In terms of its characteristics, the engine surpasses not only its predecessor in the face of the B8, but also the flagship M8 Gran Coupe. The latter produces 625 "horses" and 750 "newton meters".

The Alpina B8 GT accelerates to the first "hundred" in just 3,3 seconds. The indicator turned out to be identical to that of the "regular" B8. But in terms of maximum speed, the "charged" version even surpasses the M8 with the M Driver's Package - 330 km / h.

On the technical side, there are other changes compared to the standard version. The Alpina team has implemented the following improvements:

✅ updated differential software
✅ sports transfer case setup
✅ upgraded exhaust system

The exterior of the "charged" B8 is also something to look at. The body received exclusive elements made of carbon fiber. These include a diffuser and aerodynamic fangs. The car is delivered on 21-inch wheels with aluminum caps.

The door sills and pillars feature B8 GT logos, and for an extra fee, Alpina can install signature stripes in Carbon Metallic. Potential buyers can choose from seven body color schemes.

The interior of the new model boasts Merino leather trim. A plaque on the central console serves as a "sign" of distinction and a symbol of the passing "era".

It bears the signature of Alpina founder Burkhard Bovensiepen and the serial number. The car comes with two branded suitcases.

It is noteworthy that the sports car's multimedia system has remained the same. The B8 GT inherited it from the previous model with built-in displays. At the moment, they already look somewhat outdated against the background of current BMW solutions.

The "farewell" car will be released in a limited edition of 99 units. The cost of the B8 GT is twice that of the M8 Gran Coupe and is 225 thousand euros (23,7 million rubles).

Recall that in 2022, the German company BMW announced the purchase of Alpina. In the coming months, the brand will come under the full control of the Bavarian auto giant. Now the fate of the tuning studio remains unknown. It is possible that the division will face radical changes.
