
Lada Granta will not leave the assembly line – its “life cycle” has been officially extended
Lada Granta, the most popular new car in Russia, will continue to be produced. Despite the fact that the production of the new generation model, Iskra, will soon start, the Granta will be assembled in parallel.
The management of AVTOVAZ stated that the Lada Granta will definitely not be removed from the assembly line in the next seven years. And if the demand for the most affordable car in the domestic production line remains, then this period will be extended.
Let us recall that recently the Lada Granta was measured out to have a "life cycle" until 2026, maximum until 2027. Now it has been extended by another five years from the most optimistic term. The model will be produced in parallel with the Iskra.

Initially, a standard scheme for Russian automakers was assumed. Until the Lada Iskra production reaches the planned capacity, it will be covered by Granta. But as soon as it does, the outdated model will be abandoned immediately.
Having analyzed the market, AVTOVAZ economists and marketers decided that the Russian driver needs the cheapest, but at the same time new car. This is exactly what the Lada Granta is, especially in the basic configuration. The new model, due to its more complex design and the presence of modern options even in the initial version, will be more expensive.
In order not to lose customers, it was decided to keep the Granta. In what proportion to the Iskra it will be produced depends only on demand. If the market demands it, it is possible 9 to 1 in favor of the Granta or vice versa.
As for the serial production of LADA Iskra, it is promised to be launched in Tolyatti in the spring of this year. When exactly this will happen is not yet reported. But the cars are already being assembled in test mode.
Every week, several cars roll off the new conveyor. They will not go on sale, the main purpose of such examples is to refine the production process and conduct tests. The latter are carried out both at the factory and in conditions close to real ones, that is, on public roads.

LADA Iskra was planned to replace Granta, but now it will occupy an intermediate position between it and Vesta. The lineup will include cars in three body types - a sedan, a station wagon and a crossover version of the latter.
The chassis is the import-substituting CMF-B platform from Renault. During the process of modification and adjustment, more than 400 parts were replaced.
It is not yet known how much exactly they will ask for LADA Iskra. But the price will be somewhere in the middle between Granta and Vesta. At the same time, the cheapest Russian car in the classic configuration can be bought today for about 936 rubles.
