MS-21 – synchronized aerobatics of airliners with foreign and domestic engines

The Russian airliner MS-21 has been operating on regular flights for 14 years in a row. Aircraft was mass-produced, but one mistake almost put an end to it. In order to speed up production, they decided to use foreign PW-1400 engines. In principle, this can be understood and even forgiven - the relevant industry was in decline, and their own aircraft was needed. Not the airlines - they got by just fine with foreign airliners. It is for this reason that domestic engines were delayed. There was no urgent need for them. As in the MS-21, which stands for "Mainline Aircraft of the 21st Century."

By the way, this project appeared back in the USSR, and it was originally called the Yak-42M. It was an ambitious attempt by the Yakovlev Design Bureau engineers to wipe the nose of the Tupolev Design Bureau. Later, the project was renamed the Yak-242. It was planned that it would be launched into production in 1997. Alas, the collapse of the USSR prevented this. So much so that the project was “frozen”. They returned to it in 2008. The first Yak-242, by that time already renamed the MS-21, flew only 9 years later. And the author of the channel “OKandrew Planespotting Channel” will show the rarest footage. This is aerobatics performed by a pair of MS-21. One with PW-1400 engines, the second with PD-14.
Do you think the MS-21 will eventually be mass-produced?
