The world's first cross-border cable car will be launched in our country this year

It has become known that the world's first cross-border passenger cable car is expected to be launched in 2025. This information was shared with the public by the Consul General of China, Jiang Xiaoyang.


He expressed confidence that the project, which is being implemented within the framework of the intergovernmental agreement concluded between our countries in 2015, will be completed by the end of the year. The cable car will run over the Amur River and connect the cities of Blagoveshchensk and Heihe.



It should be said that the construction of this "road" was laid down back in 2019 and, in addition to Russia and China, specialists from France and the Netherlands were to take part in it. The implementation dates were also planned differently - the structure was to be put into operation in 2023. However, due to well-known reasons, both the composition of the participants and the dates were revised.

At the moment, most of the work on the construction of infrastructure facilities has already been completed on the Chinese side. As for the area of ​​responsibility on our bank of the Amur River, here, according to the head of the construction company, work is being carried out practically around the clock.

The Russia-China cable car will be almost 1000 meters long. It will have two independent lines and four passenger cabins. Each of them is reportedly capable of accommodating up to 110 people, plus space for luggage.


Using the new cable car, you can get from one country to another in just seven minutes. The interval between flights will not exceed 15 minutes. Simple calculations yield a figure of more than 1000 people per hour – the total capacity of the air lines. It is expected that the passenger flow of the cable car under construction may amount to more than 2,5 million people per year.

According to information announced by the regional government, investment in this project amounts to approximately 12 billion rubles.
