Thanks to MAZ and Promtech, a minibus for the canine service has appeared in Russia

The Promtech company has developed a new special model – a minibus for dog handlers. The vehicle is equipped with everything necessary for transporting service dogs and their handlers.

The chassis is a MAZ-365 minibus. Despite the famous Belarusian nameplates, the car is in fact almost entirely Chinese. And even the appearance of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter should not mislead - before you is a JAC Sunray.


Why did Promtech not choose the Russian analogue of the "Chinese", Sollers Atlant, as a base, but preferred the Belarusian MAZ? It's simple - the machine was created at the request of the company BELAVTOMAZ. The latter, as is clear from the name, works specifically with equipment from the Republic of Belarus.

As for the Sollers concern, its management has not yet expressed a desire to produce special vehicles for dog handlers. Although, after the appearance of such a MAZ-365, they may change their mind. Everything depends primarily on demand. And Promtech does not care which copy of the JAC Sunray to take as a basis for conversion.

The dog training minibus turned out to be well-thought-out and functional. The interior is divided into three parts. The first is intended for the driver and a couple of passengers – there are three separate seats.

The second part is for dog handlers. The left part of the compartment contains four chairs, two in a row. The right part is free – you can transport the equipment necessary for the work there.

If desired, passenger seats can be added to the middle. In theory, there could be up to 12 seats. But you need to understand that in this case there will be nowhere to put the equipment.


The aft compartment is designed to accommodate service dogs. There are four metal cages. They stand two in a row - one on top of the other. In order for the dogs to comfortably get to the "second floor", the manufacturer has provided a folding ladder-ladder.

As for the technical features of the MAZ-365, which became the basis for the specialized canine vehicle, it is a typical JAC Sunray. Under the hood of the car is a diesel engine HFC4DE1-1D with a volume of 2,75 liters and a power of 150 hp.

The engine works in tandem with a six-speed manual gearbox. The model has rear-wheel drive. Options include ABS, EBD and ESC.
