
The new Dacia Sandero will be the most economical in the lineup
The Romanian carmaker is preparing to launch a hybrid version of the popular budget hatchback Sandero. It is based on the Hybrid 140 system used in the seven-seater version of the Jogger model.
The transition to a new type of power plant became possible thanks to a common platform. It allows minimizing production costs, thereby maintaining the price segment of the new product.
The Hybrid 140 system is a tandem consisting of a 1,6-liter engine, an electric motor, and a starter generator. The power of the naturally aspirated engine is 90, and the "green" unit is 50 hp.

The automatic transmission works in tandem with the engines. For comparison, the current petrol and bi-fuel versions of the Jogger and Sandero are equipped with a manual and variable transmission, depending on the configuration.
Thus, the new Sandero will not only be the most economical hatchback in the manufacturer's lineup, but also a dynamic one. Of course, this statement is true in relation to class and weight car. Now this small car will be more comfortable to drive in urban conditions and even on country trips on highways.
As reported by the Dacia press center, the Hybrid 140 allows up to 80% of trips to be made in "green" mode, reducing fuel consumption by 40%. The modification starts moving on the electric motor under any circumstances and only then connects the petrol unit.
Mass unification of production is observed not only in the use of the Renault Group platform. "Economy" is also present in the design of the updated "Sandero". The front part, right up to the B-pillar, will be identical to that of the Jogger model.
The dimensions of Sandero will remain within the previous limits:
✅ length - 4 m
✅ width - 1,8 m
✅ height - 1,5 m
✅ wheelbase - 2,6 m
Keeping the analogy with the "Jogger", the new Sandero received similar equipment. This includes an audio system with four speakers, a multifunctional steering wheel and interior trim materials.
The central display is an 8-inch touchscreen. The software shell supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wirelessly.

Unfortunately, the Dacia representative office has not yet announced the estimated cost of the new product. The date of its release for sale also remains unknown.
For comparison, the hybrid version of the Jogger is more expensive than the base version by an average of 4 thousand euros (424 thousand rubles). It is possible that the new Sandero will follow the example of its "brother" in terms of pricing. In this case, the expected cost of the hatchback can be called a figure within 24 thousand euros (2,5 million rubles).
