ZIL-157: What Soviet dump trucks are doing in Indonesia

Where only you will not meet Soviet equipment. In front of us is a hard worker ZIL-157, which got to Indonesia by unknown routes. And after all, the latest modification car with the index "K" left the factory conveyor in 1978. This means that truck, shown in the video on the TEKNIQ channel, is at least 47 years old, and that is not a fact: it is possible that the car was produced earlier.

It is obvious that the car is at least looked after: water is added before the trip, the oil is checked. Obviously, this ZIL-157 is a source of income (maybe the main one) for an obviously poor Indonesian family. Although, it is possible that such a truck can be considered a fortune here.

Surprisingly, the "old man" started up right away with the "crooked" starter. The driver didn't even strain himself: he pulled the handle once and that's it - done! That's what it means - Soviet equipment, albeit old. And what is this truck for in an Indonesian village, what does a local resident carry on it? The road goes through the forest, the dump truck confidently storms the river, without even slowing down: apparently, it has passed here more than once.
