New Russian V8 engines are being prepared for serial production

Tutaev Engine Plant has begun preparing a conveyor line for the production of next-generation V8 diesel engines. This will be a series of power units with a capacity in the range from 370 to 465 hp.

Motors are primarily needed for tractors series "Kirovets". At first, the K-7M model will receive them, and in the most powerful version. This will make Russian equipment even more versatile - they will be able to cope with the most difficult work.

In 2025, the management of the Tutaev Engine Plant promises not only to make at least two engine models serial. They will assemble a whole batch of K-7M Kirovets tractors. After the necessary factory tests, they will go on sale.

At first, TMZ plans to master two basic engines. The first is the "Etalon" with the factory index 8483.10. This power unit is equipped with distributed fuel injection. The M230 is used as a control unit for this engine.

The second engine, which will definitely become serial in 2025, is Progress. It is known under the index 8801.10. This power unit has direct fuel injection. The system, by the way, is domestic, manufactured at the Altai Precision Products Plant. The control unit of TMZ 8801.10 is more modern - M240.

They promise that the new engines will be the most reliable of those ever installed on K-7M Kirovets tractors. After all, they belong to the next generation of power units.

The engines are distinguished by their power at low speeds, and are not as heat-loaded as the previous generation ICEs. They do not suffer from increased vibrations and noise. There are also differences in the hardware. For example, improved pistons and belt drives are used during assembly.

New engines appeared as prototypes at the end of 2023. At the same time, they began to be tested on factory stands. After passing the necessary tests, one of the internal combustion engines was installed on the K-7M Kirovets.

The tractor underwent a testing cycle throughout 2024. After their completion, engineers from the Tutaev Motor Plant made a number of improvements to the new engines.

The manufacturer reported that in order to increase the service life of the power units, a number of units had to be developed. There was even a gearbox that transmits torque from the internal combustion engine to the fuel pump.

At the same time, the engines retained their unification with the engines of the previous generation. As for the Kirovets tractors, they will only benefit from the launch of the next generation of internal combustion engines into production.
