Unique electric bus MAZ-271E began transporting passengers
Minsk airport received an electric bus MAZ-271E. This is a unique apron model, which is going to be launched into serial production. Now the equipment is undergoing final tests. The latter are no different from standard operation. So MAZ-271E is already transporting passengers.
Anyone can see for themselves – just visit the Minsk National Airport. The apron electric bus transported its first passengers on Thursday, January 9. This was officially announced by the company's press service.
It is already known how long the trial operation will last. The Minsk Automobile Plant decided that 6 months would be enough. After that, the electric bus will continue its work. In the future, it is planned to transfer several more vehicles of this type to the Minsk National Airport.

MAZ-271E also interested Russian companies. Incidentally, the manufacturer was counting on this – the apron electric bus was actively presented at exhibitions in our country, although it had not yet passed all the tests.
By the way, the experimental MAZ-271E was handed over to the Minsk National Airport back in December. But it had to undergo a series of tests before the vehicle was allowed to transport passengers.
The electric bus is based on the MAZ-271067 platform. This is also an apron model, but of the previous generation. The new model meets world standards - it has an improved climate control system and a folding ramp for wheelchair users.
MAZ has high hopes for the electric bus. The thing is that it is unique not only because it is the most modern model. It is simply that the platform buses no one else produces them in the EAEU. Of course, Russia can order them from China, but MAZ guarantees the availability of spare parts.
And the Minsk equipment will be serviced by visiting specialists. During the warranty period, free of charge, and then for a reasonable price.
MAZ-271E is equipped with one electric engine with a capacity of 245 hp. The cabin is designed for 90-100 passengers. There are few seats - from 8 to 14. Everything depends on the modification.

The running battery will be enough for at least 80 kilometers of travel. The batteries will be offered in two versions - with a capacity of 126 and 270 kW⋅h. The length of the MAZ-271E is almost 15 meters.
The manufacturer offers not only apron electric buses, but also diesel versions. They are called MAZ-271, without the letter "e" in the index.
Representatives of the Russian airport Pulkovo have already expressed interest in electric buses. They signed an agreement according to which they will also receive MAZ-271E for trial operation.
