A revolution in the world of electric motors – new wheel models deliver power up to 857 hp.

The Donut Lab company has presented a unique development – several models of electric wheel motors. Despite their compact size and weight, they are distinguished by their colossal power. For example, a standard motor wheel for car capable of producing up to 857 hp. And this is with a weight of 40 kg.

The all-wheel drive car, which will receive four engines at once, will develop up to 3 "horses". No serial manufacturer has even come close to such parameters.

Donut Lab presented a whole line of engines at the CES exhibition in the USA. Their power units have different sizes and weights. But the latter in any case does not exceed 40 kilograms.

The heaviest motor wheels can be installed on both trucks and cars. There are options for motorcycle, scooters and even drones. Although, the latter are no longer in the form of wheels.

The size of the largest power units is specially adjusted to the radius of the R21 disks. With a power of 857 hp, the engines have a torque of 4 Nm.

It should be understood that any car will need at least two engines - on the front or rear axles. If an all-wheel drive model is required, then this is already four engines. Accordingly, any car with power units from Donut Lab will develop more than 1 hp. And with a 700x4 wheel arrangement - all 4.

Special engines have been developed for trucks – with a more robust design. They weigh the same 40 kg in the R21 radius. But the power is 272 hp.

For comparison, modern heavy diesel engines trucks produce an average of 400-500 "horses". Installing new engines will increase the power by 2-4 times. After all, such equipment may have not 4 wheels, but 6 or 8. The main thing is to find running batteries that will be enough for power.

Wheel motors for motorcycles are more modest, but also surprising. They weigh 20 kg with a power of 204 hp. The manufacturer assures that it is possible to make all-wheel drive equipment. In principle, this is not typical for motorcycles, but it will allow the formation of a new class. And there will be no need for complex drive systems consisting of several chains or cardans.

Small wheels for scooters are also presented. They weigh only 8 kg. The power is not impressive - 20 hp. But, considering that this is a small-sized equipment, it will be enough.

Now the Donut Lab company is waiting for sponsors who will launch their invention into large-scale production. The new motor-wheels will be useful in all areas of the motor transport industry - from construction to sports.
Do you think Donut Lab motors will become serial production?
