Chinese passenger airliner COMAC C919 is going to conquer the EU countries

COMAC management is preparing the C919 passenger airliner for entry into international markets. It is stated that in 2025 aircraft will receive all the documents and certificates required for operation in EU countries.

As early as 2026, it is planned to replace most of the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 operated by Chinese airlines with COMAC C919. These aircraft will dominate the skies not only over China, but also throughout Southeast Asia.

But now the most important thing is to produce the maximum number of winged machines for our own market. They are already actively used there. Increasing the number of airliners will help identify and eliminate shortcomings and problems. It will also help earn a reputation with potential foreign clients.

Specialists from the EU countries are already ready for the "Chinese expansion". They managed to evaluate the realistic aviation simulator COMAC C919, presented by the manufacturer. They also had the opportunity to get acquainted with the serial aircraft.

Negotiations between the Chinese and representatives of European airlines are already underway. There is no doubt that in 2025, the COMAC C919 will receive all the necessary documents for operation in EU countries. If China can offer lower prices, the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 will have to "move over".

Let us recall that the first experimental COMAC C919 was presented to the public in early November 2015. Within a few months after that, the manufacturer managed to receive preliminary orders from 21 airlines. They wanted to purchase more than 500 aircraft.

Only on May 5, 2017, the COMAC C919 made its first flight. It was able to accelerate to 315 km/h. Testing lasted for several years. In 2023, customers began to receive serial aircraft. The first airline to operate the COMAC C919 was China Eastern Airlines.

According to the latest data, COMAC has an order book of 800 airliners. This means that they will only increase production capacity in the near future.

Interestingly, despite the prospects, the C919 does not yet have its own engines. The aircraft are equipped with CFM International LEAP 1C engines. This is a joint French-American venture.

If China has political disputes with the US and EU countries, then the supply of power units may cease. This will lead to the same situation that arose several years ago in Russia.

In China, work is underway on import-substituting engines. However, when they will be launched into production is still unknown.
Do you think COMAC C919 will appear in Russia?
