
Soviet buses that were warm in winter, but not always
Many people remember the Soviet era well. buses. They are still used in some places, but these are rather exceptions. But, despite all the advantages, the cold in the Ikarus buses was terrible in winter. And people there did not freeze very much only because they warmed each other in the crush, albeit involuntarily. But the Hungarian buses were designed to be warm. The designers modified them for the USSR. That is why they had special "stoves" - like "Webasto", and technically - like "Zaporozhets", only more complicated, with a connection to the on-board network. They ran on diesel fuel and this became a problem during the "Perestroika". Drivers saved fuel and did not turn on the cabin heaters. As a result, people suffered.
