High-speed train CR450 recognized as the fastest in the world – it will go into production
Chinese train already in 2025 may become the fastest in the world. Recently, such a commercial express was tested in China. At least, that's what local media call it. The train was able to accelerate to a speed of 450 km/h.
They promise that the model will go into serial production. Already in 2025, similar trains will start running in China.
The new high-speed express is known under the index CR450. It will become the fastest serial model in the world. For example, in Japan, the country considered the "homeland" of such expresses, there are serial models that can accelerate only to 320 km/h.

There are similar trains in Russia, for example, the Sapsan. But it cannot be considered fully domestic, because it was developed by Siemens. According to its performance characteristics, this express train can accelerate to 350 km/h. But during commercial operation, the bar is set at 250 km/h. Russian railways are not yet ready for higher speeds.
But in China, things are in order. Their high-speed railways are already the longest in the world – 45 thousand kilometers. And construction continues.
The CR450 train, although able to accelerate to 450 km/h, will be limited to 400 km/h during commercial trips. It is not safe to go any faster. But this will be enough to overtake the Japanese, once the leaders of the segment.
The CR450 train was tested on an active section of the railway line connecting two Chinese cities – Beijing and Tianjin. The model has an aerodynamic design and looks like a bullet.
To attract attention, the driver's cabin received decorative lighting elements. Because of this, it seems that the train has come straight from the future.
The CR450 is a development of the high-speed model line. The new model differs from the serial CR400 train in its design, outstanding technical characteristics and innovative materials.

The CR450 is 12% lighter. Thanks to this, well-thought-out aerodynamics and an improved braking system with recuperation, the train consumes 20% less energy.
The CR450 will be mass-produced in 2025. This is part of the Chinese high-speed rail development program. Currently, 96% of cities in China with a population of over 0,5 million people can use this network.
And when the new CR450 trains hit the line, the process of moving between towns will speed up even more.
