Russian InnoVtol-3s drones used to monitor forest fires

Russian inventors have developed a fire monitoring system. It includes an unmanned aircraft, video camera and software.

Innopolis University specialists collaborated with two third-party Russian companies to create the complex. Together, they managed to create the first video monitoring system of this kind in our country.

It can be used to track fires at their initial stages. The range of the complex is over 30 kilometers. It immediately transmits data online.

The InnoVtol-3s unmanned aerial vehicle was specially developed for monitoring territories and delivering small-sized cargo. It was suitable for inclusion in the video recording complex.

The drone is equipped with a camera from a partner, the company "Delidrone". This is a technology controlled by artificial intelligence. The video camera is equipped with a smoke detector.

The process of detecting fires begins with recording the slightest smoke. Taking into account the intensity and color of the latter, the AI immediately processes the data, making decisions.

The manufacturer claims that the complex can detect not only incipient fires. It determines what kind of fires they are – forest, steppe or man-made.

The main advantage of the InnoVtol-3s drone is its speed. The "Forest Guard" software, together with an intelligent video camera, can operate at speeds of up to 80 km/h. All data is immediately transmitted to the processing centers.

The manufacturer claims that one complex is enough to patrol areas up to 200 thousand hectares. This will help not only to promptly monitor the situation, but also to minimize the work of foresters.

The new complex has become the first autonomous solution for fire detection in Russia. Its operation does not require full Internet access from 3G and higher. 2G is sufficient, which allows the use of a drone with equipment even in areas inaccessible to other equipment.

The new complex has already passed all the necessary tests. They were conducted in the most remote corners of Russia, for example, on Sakhalin. Smoke was present in any weather conditions, both in summer and winter.

The software "Lesokhranitel" was developed by the company "Formosa-Soft". It can only be used on InnoVtol-3s drones - these are the terms of the agreement.
Do you think the video monitoring system will be used on a mass scale?
