Logging in America – Amazing Machinery and People

Working in the forest is not only hard, but also dangerous. And it's hard to argue with that, especially when you watch the video on the MR Tech channel. Here we see how trees are cut down and stumps are uprooted not in the Siberian taiga, but most likely in the Amazon jungle. Well, or somewhere nearby.

It is not only the nature that amazes, but also the ultra-modern equipment used for timber extraction. Some machines look like giants from a space science fiction film next to a person. The technologies used are also interesting. For example, a machine with a huge circular saw drives up to a huge tree. What is it doing – the huge trunk will crush the equipment! But no – huge grippers gently “embrace” the log and lower it to the ground.

I don’t even want to talk about people: could you operate a chainsaw while hanging a couple of dozen meters from the ground on a rope, like a monkey? Timber removal is a separate issue. There are simply no roads – most often it’s a track in a swamp. And if a timber truck gets stuck, it pulls itself out: fortunately, there are devices for this right on the vehicle. And this is not a winch – “jaws” and grips, with which the stuck transport lays out a "bedding" for himself. What else is in the arsenal of brave lumberjacks - you will find out from the video, which we invite you to watch!
