You can now drive a KAMAZ with a category B license
Domestic manufacturer trucks continues to expand its line and, in particular, the Compass series. A model with index 3 is being prepared for release.
The car will be the most compact representative of the family. It was developed specifically for the commercial needs of individual entrepreneurs, as well as for small and medium businesses. The total mass of the "Compass-3" does not exceed 3,5 tons, which allows you to drive the vehicle without having to open the "C".
The launch of production of the new product is planned for 2025. The main production site of the smallest "Compass" will be the plant in Naberezhnye Chelny.

The cabin of the "troika" will be similar to that used in the fifth model. The distinctive feature will be some design changes:
✅ lightweight frame
✅ compact wheels
✅ reduced loading height
Technical details of the upcoming new product are also known. Under the hood there will be a turbodiesel unit with a working volume of 2,2 liters.
The engine power reaches 122 hp. The figure is far from a record, but the torque is "available" and is 320 Nm. The unit works in tandem with a five-speed manual transmission. The drive is transmitted exclusively to the rear wheels.
It is noteworthy that at the moment there are no similar engines and "boxes" in the line of the Kama automobile enterprise. According to some information, the localized Chinese engine JAC Ruijie 2,2 CTI may act as a power plant. On the other hand, there have been no official comments from the manufacturer on this matter yet.
Let us recall that at the moment the youngest model of the KAMAZ family is the "Compass 5". The vehicle's load capacity is 1,2 tons. With the release of the youngest "troika", the position in the lineup will quite expectedly change.

It's not just about dimensions and traction capabilities. "Compass 3" also promises to become a more affordable alternative. For comparison, the base price of the "five" is 4,9 million rubles. The new product, in turn, will be cheaper, but the KAMAZ representative office has not yet named specific "figures".
The manufacturer's most compact truck will compete with other domestic representatives of the so-called small class - GAZelle, UAZ "Profi", Sollers Argo. In addition to the cost and the ability to control with category "B", KAMAZ points out two more significant advantages of the "Compass" line.

The company's press center also emphasizes the increasing level of localization of production, which will have a positive effect on the rate of production and subsequently the availability of spare parts.
