Production of localized Belarusian Avior buses has started

Production of localized passenger of buses Avior was launched in the Belarusian city of Borisov. They say that this technology is ideal for the countries of the former USSR. After all, it has solved the main problem with the body, the panels of which are not steel, but fiberglass.

At first glance, it seems that Avior buses are complete clones of Chinese SAIC Maxus. But this is far from true. Before launching the conveyor assembly, the manufacturer conducted large-scale tests that lasted for a year and a half. During the tests, the model was modified and localized by 56%. Only after that, the equipment was launched into serial production.

The Borisov plant can be called a full-fledged, not an assembly plant. Of course, it is still far from a full cycle, but everything is ahead. The plant already manufactures welded frames and stamps body panels. Accordingly, these elements are painted there.

As for the chassis, they are Chinese for now. But they were developed taking into account Belarusian and Russian realities. The partners from the Celestial Empire received the revised design documentation with the changes already made. In the future, it is planned to establish chassis production in Borisov.

All Avior buses belong to the tourist middle class. They have 29 passenger seats and a high level of comfort that meets modern requirements.

In addition to the frame and body panels, Avior buses have a lot of Belarusian stuff. For example, heaters and windshield wiper mechanisms are made at Belrobot. Glass is from Mogilev, lighting equipment is from Rudno, and driver's seats are made in Osipovichi.

The Avior bus engine, although the only one, has a serious volume of 4,3 liters. This is a power unit manufactured by Yuchai. In the process of localization, options for replacing it with a Russian YaMZ are being considered.

The Avior also has no alternative gearboxes – mechanical six-speed from Fast Gear. The braking system has an additional reserve retarder – Telma retarder.

Fuel consumption is already known - up to 18 liters per 100 km. Compared to the Gazelle, it seems a lot, but do not forget about the engine capacity of 4,3 liters and a higher class of equipment. The fuel tank capacity is 150 l.

Avior buses, 56% localized, will appear in Russia in the first quarter of 2025. The price of the basic version in Belarus is 335 thousand rubles (9,9 million Russian rubles).
Do you think Avior buses will be 100% localized?
