Russian plant starts production of parts for Airbus A321

The first delivery of spare parts for the narrow-body Airbus A321 was manufactured at the production facilities of the IKAR company. The holding's engineering center has preliminarily issued technical documentation and set up the work of all the necessary production lines.

The plant is located on the territory of the industrial site in Rudnevo, which is part of Technopolis-Moscow. The delivery included components of a modernized drainage system for a foreign Aircraft.

In parallel with this, engineers of the IKAR holding are actively developing other parts of the water drainage system. The key task of the association is to expand production capacities, repair and improve existing foreign aircraft.

Currently, Russian carriers operate 77 A321s. The main operators are Aeroflot, Ural Airlines, and S7 Airlines.

The holding's press center commented on the opening of production and the delivery of the debut batch of parts:

The number of sets sent will improve the equipment of 12 aircraft. In the future, it is planned to increase the volumes if there is a corresponding request. The first delivery became the starting point of the global modernization project.

"IKAR" has established a full production cycle. It includes the creation of a concept for a unit or part, conducting research and development work, optimization and issuing technical documentation. In addition, the IC provides engineering support for repair and modernization processes carried out on aircraft of Russian airlines.

The holding was established in 2003. IKAR was the result of the merger of Kaskol and a branch of Airbus Russia. Notably, it was the first enterprise in the world organized outside the European Union.

The center was engaged in the development and technical support of such aircraft as A320, 330, 380. Over its 20-year history, the holding's engineers have implemented over 200 projects in the aviation industry. The partnership was broken in 2022. At the same time, the production of original spare parts stopped.

After the sanctions were imposed and Airbus left, the engineering center continued to operate independently. The company's main activity is the design and production of aircraft parts. In addition, IKAR is also involved in the creation of unmanned aerial vehicles for civilian use.
Should we continue to repair and modernize foreign aircraft?
