Xiaomi to Release Crossover
The Chinese company, best known for making smartphones and televisions, is preparing to debut its second production car. It will be the YU7 model.
The SUV will complement the SU7 sedan. The new product will hit the shelves of auto stores in mid-2025.
The design of the Chinese model evokes strong associations with the Ferrari Purosangue. The similarity can be seen in the wheel arches, massive rear wings and the "wavy" glass line.

There are also other exterior references. The through-lights and small spoiler are reminiscent of Aston Martin, and the headlights are similar to those on the McLaren 750S.
The manufacturing plant is listed as a production site in Beijing, where Xiaomi also produced its 100th SU7 last month.
The dimensions of the SUV are as follows:

Compared to its sedan body, the YU7 has similar proportions. However, the SUV is 7 cm larger than the SU15.
Details regarding the interior have not yet been presented, the manufacturer has not yet shared images of the interior. However, some features of the equipment are known.
The multimedia display is supposed to be a 16,1-inch touch panel. Screens are also available for rear passengers.
The SUV will be supplied with an optional autonomous driving system. The main sensor for spatial orientation will be a roof-mounted LiDAR.
The tandem of two electric motors is responsible for the performance. The power of the front and rear is 295 and 386 hp, respectively. In total, this exceeds the performance of its "relative" in the person of the SU7 Max by 17 "horses".
On the other hand, in terms of dimensions and weight, the SUV will definitely be larger than the Xiaomi sedan. Therefore, the dynamics of these cars are expected to be similar.
The battery packs are manufactured by CATL. Unfortunately, no details on the available capacities have been provided yet. For comparison, the SU7 model offers applicants configurations of 74, 94 and 101 kWh.

The maximum CLTL range is 800 km. It is possible that the YU7 has a more "modest" autonomy.
In terms of pricing, the Chinese SUV will become a competitor to the Tesla Model Y. The cost of the SUV from Xiaomi will be between 250 thousand and 300 thousand yuan (3,8 million and 4,2 million rubles, respectively).
Compared to the SU7 sedan, it will cost an average of 35 thousand yuan (485 thousand rubles) less. If we again draw a parallel with the competitor Tesla, the Model 3 turned out to be noticeably more expensive.
