The most "stylish" and powerful Jeep Wrangler

The word "Jeep", which is often used in the Russian-speaking world to denote the form factor of SUVs, appeared thanks to the Jeep brand. Despite its "almost cult" status, the company's line does not stand out much from other modern automakers.


However, this statement does not apply to the Wrangler model. It is possible that it is thanks to this SUV that Jeep still remains "afloat". "Wrangler" received a special version Rubicon 392 Final Edition, which became the most dynamic and aesthetically attractive in the series. We will talk about it in this article.

Exterior


Visually, the special version of the Rubicon differs little from its "progenitor". However, some details immediately "catch the eye". One of these can be considered the new roof.

It is available in both soft and hard versions, the former boasting an electric drive. According to owners, it “creates the feeling of a convertible.”

The dimensions of the SUV are as follows:

✅ length - 4,8 m
✅ width - 1,9 m
✅ height - 1,8 m
✅ wheelbase - 3 m

Rubicon 392 Final Edition received a special package of "off-road" options - 17-inch wheels, a proprietary Warn winch, door sill protection and a retractable table in the rear door. In addition, a compressor can be installed in the spare tire mount to inflate flat tires for off-road driving.

Interior and equipment


Subjectively, the Rubicon 392 Final Edition can be called the most “refined” of all current Wranglers. On the other hand, in terms of premium level, it has not yet “reached” the Wagoneer model.

The SUV's interior welcomes the driver and passengers with Nappa leather with decorative stitching and an abundance of logos. The Alpine brand audio system and 12,3-inch touchscreen display are responsible for multimedia capabilities.

The list of equipment includes heated and electrically adjustable seats, as well as a 360-degree camera. The latter will be especially useful off-road.

Engine and technical part


Perhaps the engine can be called one of the most interesting parts of this modification of the "Wrangler". The power plant is significantly different from the basic version. Under the hood of the Rubicon 392 FE is a 6,4-liter unit.

The engine is eight-cylinder, V-shaped and with the Hemi index, which has already become iconic. Such a "monster" does not need turbocharging, this "atmospheric" unit already produces 470 hp of power with a peak torque of 636 Nm.

The drive is transmitted to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. In tandem with this "tandem" also work differential locks and "transfer case".

For comparison, the base Wrangler is equipped with a 3,6-liter V6. Its power is 285 "horses" with a "torque" of 353 N * m. The "growth" is obvious even against the background of the hybrid version 4Xe.

Such serious "figures" have had a positive effect on the dynamics of the SUV. For example, this "Rubicon" accelerates to 100 km/h in 5,5 seconds. In off-road conditions, the car also turned out to be more passable.

Of course, the dynamic performance is great. But the Rubicon 392 also has the highest fuel consumption. According to the EPA cycle, the SUV "eats" about 15 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers on the highway.

Conclusion


The list of competitors for the Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition can hardly be called extensive. The first to come to mind is the Ford Bronco in the Raptor version. The price is close, but in terms of fuel consumption, the Bronco is more economical.

However, if a potential SUV owner plans to go off-road more often than once a month, the Wrangler will help him with this more. The list of competitors also includes Land Rover and Mercedes models.

Surprisingly, the latter two offer more “luxury” at this price. But the downside is similar to the Bronco Raptor – on rocks, in mud and snow, the Rubicon 392 FE will leave them far “behind”.

In conclusion, I would like to say a few words about the price tag of this SUV. The Rubicon is definitely not affordable. However, the concept of the Final Edition itself confirms this fact.

In theory, the FE is the same iconic Wrangler, which has been cranked up to the max. That's why the price tag is appropriate, within $100 (9,8 million rubles). Whether this is a fair price - everyone will decide for themselves.
