Toyota leaves major racing series

The press center of the North American division of Toyota TMNA announced the end of participation in NHRA racing. The Japanese brand will leave the National Hot Rod Drag Racing Association after the end of the 2025 season.

Unfortunately, Toyota management does not report the reasons for its departure from the series. At the moment, the brand continues to cooperate with the leading teams of the National Association - AB and DC Motorsports, Ron Capps, Torrence Racing, Kalitta.

It is noteworthy that the lack of desired results in the tournament tables could not be the reason for leaving NHRA. During its 20-year career, Toyota has achieved serious results.

Toyota's list of awards includes 12 championship titles and about 200 victories. The most significant achievement can be considered the first-ever Manufacturers' Cup, which the Japanese company won this year.

TMNA Motorsports Group Director Paul Doleschal commented on the event:

Participation in NHRA has brought a lot of success and pride to our team. The drivers and staff have become true members of the big Toyota family. We are looking forward to victories in the coming year, but this will be the last season for drag racing in the National Hot Rod Association.

The Japanese company "broke into" the NHRA series in 2022. The team's first victory was at the Winternationals '04. Toyota's departure will be a kind of end to the "era" of the brand's sports history. On the other hand, the Japanese company is not leaving motorsport and will continue to strive for success in other areas.
