AVTOVAZ has released a batch of carburetor engines – drivers’ opinions

Recently, photos from AVTOVAZ warehouses appeared on the Internet, showing a batch of brand new engines. It would seem, what's so special about this? They just assembled more engines, then they will go to the conveyors and end up under the hoods cars.

But the power units are not standard for modern Lada models, but carburetor ones. What does this mean - is the manufacturer preparing to simplify the Lada Granta once again? Or will the vaunted Iskra, which has long been officially presented, but has not yet gone into production, have such a version? Or maybe a rear-wheel drive classic, like the VAZ-2107, is being prepared for release?

Seeing the fuss the media had made, AVTOVAZ was quick to comment on the situation. Yes, they had indeed recently assembled a batch of carburetor engines. But there was no regression in the company's plans.

It's just a common global practice to produce parts for cars that have long since been removed from the assembly line. Moreover, it shows concern for customers. After all, the latter need to somehow service old cars. And here it's not just parts - an engine, and a brand new one at that.

Here's what Russian drivers think about this:

It seems to me that it is not about caring for customers. The batch of engines is the beginning of something large-scale. I predict the resumption of production of VAZ-2106/07.

– user “Malton” starts the conversation

It seems to me, dear Malton, that you are being paranoid. There is nothing strange about this, because it is cheaper to produce a large batch of engines at once, and then not return to this for several years. Moreover, there are still plenty of old Zhiguli and first-generation Ladas on the roads.

– user “mirnay-5” joins the conversation

I like this idea - let them bring the "Six" back into production. People used to drive them and not complain, they repaired them themselves under the entrances and in the garages. And now Euro-5, lambdas... Try to figure it out without the appropriate skills.

– user “Formal Account” expressed his point of view

Exactly – and let them bring back the winding handle, the starter is crooked! And then they came up with batteries that complicate the design. The headlights on the "dynamo" will work while moving, and if the car is standing, then there is no need for it to light up.

– the user “Halma” decided to laugh

You're joking - that's fine. But who of you drove this carburetor last time? When there was nothing to compare it to - the cars seemed ideal. Now I don't want one.

– user “Siberian” believes

Are they planning to breed horses at AVTOVAZ? I would probably buy one if they provide hay for the duration of the service.

– user “Vasya Pupkin” ends the conversation.
Would you buy an inexpensive new car with a carburetor engine?
