Cheaper than Vesta – Honda has updated its most affordable sedan

The representative office of the Japanese company presented the third generation of the Amaze model. The brand decided to “break into” the Indian market, creating competition for such cars, like Suzuki Dzire and Hyundai Aura.

The platform remained the same, but the next generation of the sedan received a "fresh" exterior and interior design. However, it was not without some disappointment.

The Amaze was first unveiled in the form of promotional images. Many media representatives and car enthusiasts had high expectations regarding the budget sedan. However, the reality turned out to be more “modest”.

Instead of radical changes, Honda presented an evolutionary, but quite predictable appearance. On the other hand, in such a price segment, one should not expect design "miracles".

The dimensions of the model remained virtually unchanged compared to the previous generation:

✅ length - 4 m
✅ width - 1,7 m
✅ height - 1,5 m
✅ wheelbase - 2,5 m

The most noticeable innovation in terms of exterior is the front part of the car. It has become visually more aggressive.

The changes affected the headlights and the radiator grille. The third generation of Amaze also received other taillights, which are vaguely reminiscent of those of the Honda City model.

The interior of the budget car is designed in a minimalist style. The main elements have been taken from the Elevate crossover - the steering wheel, control keys, air vents. The same statement is true for the digital instrument panel.

An 8-inch touchscreen display is responsible for multimedia capabilities. The above-mentioned SUV has a slightly larger screen.

Honda engineers also took care of the car's safety. The sedan is equipped with six "airbags", as well as the Honda Sensing functional complex. The latter includes adaptive cruise control and a lane keeping system.

Potential buyers will only have one powertrain configuration to choose from, a 1,2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine with i-VTEC technology.

The power of the unit reaches 89 hp with a peak torque of 110 Nm. The engine works in tandem with a five-speed manual or variable (CVT) gearbox of your choice.

For this segment, the weakest point of the engine was the lack of a natural gas version. At the same time, almost all competitors in the region have this option.

The start of sales of the updated Honda Amaze is scheduled for early next year. The basic configuration with a manual transmission will cost applicants 7,99, and for the maximum version you will have to prepare 10,14 lakh (950 thousand and 1,2 million rubles).
