
Ural motorcycles will become more affordable – production of the new modification has started
Irbit plant plans to increase sales percentage motorcycle in Russia and the CIS countries. The brand seems to have decided to return the Urals to the glory of people's bikes. Therefore, serial production of a more affordable model has started.
The new Ural motorcycle will be in the style of a classic Soviet "sidecar", without a sidecar drive. And most importantly, the new product will be cheaper, and even the approximate amount of the "discount" has been named - it is about 270 thousand rubles.
At first glance, it seems that a single-drive motorcycle will be really affordable. Of course – such a discount. But if you find out how much the Irbit plant asks for its bikes, the enthusiasm will immediately disappear. After all, the most affordable motorcycle with a sidecar drive is offered for 2,15 million rubles. This is more expensive than the Lada Vesta.

By the way, IMZ is not exactly a Russian plant. Firstly, it has belonged to a US citizen for several decades. Secondly, production is oriented towards the same country. Thirdly, since 2022, Ural motorcycles have been assembled in Kazakhstan.
However, the latter is more of a formality. All the parts are still made in Irbit. Imported components are also delivered there, of which the bike has more than enough, and not Chinese ones, but from famous brands.
In Kazakhstan, motorcycles are simply assembled. This was necessary in order to avoid economic sanctions against Russia.
Let us recall that for the last few years IMZ has only produced bikes with a sidecar drive. This is the Gear Up series. Such motorcycles are considered all-wheel drive, although this is not entirely true. After all, there are no drives on the front wheel.
The new, more affordable model has been upgraded. Apparently, it will be designed more for use on asphalt roads. Although, the muffler is raised high - you never know, you will have to conquer difficult sections of the road.

The sidecar of the single-drive Ural is located a little differently. It was moved forward to give the motorcycle more stability. The wheels were changed - instead of R19, R18 will be installed. This helped to lower the center of gravity, which also had a positive effect on stability.
There are no other changes in the technical part. The new Ural model has a 750 cm3 engine, developing 41 hp. The engines are manufactured in Irbit, on old Soviet equipment. But the build quality is of a completely different level.
The new Ural will cost about 1,88 million rubles.
