The most non-standard cargo transportation: risk and necessity
How to transport a house or a pipe several tens of meters long, a huge tractor, a whole ship, a drilling rig? All this is solved by a very interesting (and risky!) industry – transportation. Here, drivers have to perform complex, dangerous and sometimes unusual tasks. Here is a quarry excavator of incredible dimensions: its bucket alone moves up to 100 tons of soil. Usually such colossi are delivered to the work site disassembled, but this is an exception.
The following footage shows the Canadians transporting a separator that separates propane and butane for a petrochemical plant. This “product” weighs 800 tons and, to deliver it, they used a pair of platforms, the length of which is 179 m. The naval fleet is also keeping up with the land fleet Transport. The giant vessel from Holland is specially designed for transporting drilling rigs. The length of the giant is 217, the width is 42 m with a lifting capacity of 56 thousand tons.
A road train in Australia crosses a turbulent river at a ferry crossing: nothing strange, it would seem. But why at such high speed? It turns out that the area is teeming with predatory reptiles that love to hunt here. So the drivers rev up, just to be on the safe side… In Germany, to the delight of street onlookers, a submarine is transported to its eternal parking place, a technical museum. A specially prepared truck transported it for a month. If you want to see how seamless rings for a nuclear power plant with a diameter of 15,6 m, weighing 150 tons, houses and many other unusual loads are transported, watch the video with us on the channel "Workshop of Mood"!
