Russian SUVs "Captain" are better than UAZ Pickup and "Profi"

The Russian SUV ranks have grown. The Promtech company has decided to launch mass production of pickups. Externally, they resemble well-known Japanese models, such as the Nissan Navara and Mitsubishi L200. The new models, called "Captains", are positioned as the main competitors of the UAZ Pickup and Profi. However, there is nothing Russian about the new pickups, at least for now. This is a classic Chinese car, which will be assembled in our country. The Huanghai N2 pickup truck was chosen as a "donor". This model is completely unknown to us, but it has been produced in China since 2015 and is supplied to a number of developing countries. It is these countries that will be discussed on the "MotorProject" channel.

Of course, the cars are not bad. They are simple and easy to repair. They are built on a frame chassis and have a rear spring suspension. The drive is all-wheel drive, with a rigidly connected front axle. No clutches that fail under serious loads. Diesel engines with a capacity of 129 hp were chosen for Russia. This is not a Chinese development, and not even a "left" copy. Production was established by Japanese specialists Isuzu, and the license was purchased. Only mechanical gearboxes. So far, the Promtech lineup includes a two-row pickup and a cargo modification. The latter is capable of transporting up to 1,3 tons in the back.
