Russian SJ-100 airliner tests successful – details
Specialists and management of PJSC Yakovlev told how the SJ-100 tests are going. Let us recall that this is an import-substituted version of the SSJ100 airliner. Only new aircraft turned out to be more modern. Russian engineers managed to improve it.
Tests are currently underway at two sites at once – in Zhukovsky and Komsomolsky-on-Amur. These are both ground and flight tests. In the process, both the operation of individual components and all units installed on the airliner are checked.
The Russian SJ-100 aircraft has already managed to prove that it flies no worse than the SSJ100. Moreover, specialists from PJSC Yakovlev said that it even surpasses its predecessor. But this is if we take into account the operation of some systems and equipment, because the tests are still ongoing.
The most important change is the updated cabin. Russian specialists managed to improve it by installing new monitors. The latest ones are wide-format, which allows displaying more information, which is also easier to read.
But at the same time, they decided to keep the cabin design unchanged. This was done for better adaptation of pilots. Having transferred to the SJ-100 from the SSJ100, they will not even have to retrain. A short briefing will be enough.
PAO Yakovlev emphasized that the basic airliner has received many laudatory reviews from both customers and specialists. Stability and controllability even under loads are considered one of the best in the class of regional and even mainline models.
For this reason, Russian engineers were given the following task: import substitution should not spoil the aircraft. And if it is possible to improve something, great. Apparently, our engineers succeeded in the latter.
The testing process is on schedule. No one says that there are no nuances in the work. After all, he who does nothing makes no mistakes. Mistakes appear periodically, but they are corrected.
For example, recently the radio altimeter started acting up, which is why the airliner had to be landed quickly. Thanks to the professionalism of the pilots, there were no incidents.
Let us recall that the import-substituting SJ-100 took to the air for the first time under the flight certification test program on June 10 of this year. The main goal of this flight was to test the Russian fuel system.
The launch date for serial production of the airliner has not yet been announced.
