The MS-21 aircraft lineup will be expanded with an additional modification

This year, the creation of an additional version of the MS-21 will begin. Financing for the designs has already been approved in the relevant document of the Russian Government.


Let us recall when the import substitution project Aircraft When it first appeared, two modifications of the MS-21 were planned. It included the basic one with index 200 and the enlarged one under number 300. During the development of the technical project, the management of the United Aircraft Corporation decided to suspend the creation of the basic version.

This approach allowed us to concentrate resources on the production of the 300 index. In the import-substituted "look", the name was changed to 310. Configuration 210, in turn, was left "until better times".


In the spring of this year, the first reports of the restoration of the basic version project began to appear. Some analysts associate the expansion of priorities with personnel changes in the design bureau. Now, more specific facts have appeared in this area.

The published Government Resolution specifies the amount of material support for the design of the MS-21-210 for the current and next year. A total of 1,9 billion rubles are planned to be allocated for this period.

Thus, the project with index 210 is given the "green light" and not only "in words". The version will be distinguished by its reduced dimensions. The capacity of the aircraft is in the range of 140 to 150 passengers.

Unfortunately, the technical details of the aircraft are not being disclosed yet. The design bureau will begin drafting work before the end of the calendar year.
