SSJ-100 aircraft becomes even more Russian
Aircraft SSJ-100 continues its movement along the path of import substitution. Another part of the large project to replace foreign components has been completed. Now they have started to create their own doors for the aircraft.
The production of the part was set up at the Yakovlev enterprise located in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. Let us recall that before this, the doors for the SSJ-100 were supplied by the American company B/E Aerospace.
Not long ago, the French interiors of the airliner were also replaced by domestic ones. The aircraft project continues to become exclusively Russian step by step.

The creation of a localized modification of the Sukhoi Superjet was first discussed in 2018. The main goal of the project is a 97-percent transition to Russian parts. The same statement is true for the aircraft's power plants.
Previously, the SSJ-100 used PowerJet SaM146. Several countries were involved in the production. The so-called "hot part", engine nacelles and pipelines were made in France. NPO Saturn was responsible for the piping parts and final assembly. Now this turbofan engine will be replaced with "our" PD-8.
The aircraft in its new guise continues to undergo testing at SibNIA. This stage is planned to be completed by May next year. After that, the transition to certification is expected. Aeroflot will be the first recipient of the fully Russian modification of the SSJ-100.
