The debut flight of a completely domestic helicopter took place

The Rostec press center reported that the first flight of the new, deeply redesigned Ka-32A11M model took place. This is a serial model that received exclusively domestic systems and components. The machine took off from the site located at the flight test base of the KumAPP aircraft manufacturing plant in Kumertau.


During the test flights, a number of maneuvers and a control hover were practiced, which allowed us to evaluate the effectiveness of the new equipment and confirm that the equipment with domestic components is characterized by optimal stability and demonstrates obedience to control.

As reported, one of the most popular versions of the car is equipped with new engines. These are high-power power units developed by UEC. The engines received a modern digital control system BARK. With it, they demonstrated high efficiency and fault tolerance, including in emergency operating conditions. So the presented helicopter already differs in its flight characteristics for the better.


The Ka-32A11M flight and navigation system is now also digital, and also Russian. The control panel has been improved and all information with the main parameters is displayed on the multifunctional screens of the so-called "glass cockpit". This significantly simplifies the pilots' work and has a positive effect on flight safety. The updated radio navigation equipment is also responsible for the latter. It is possible to use night vision goggles.

During the previous tests, results were obtained, on the basis of which a conclusion was made about the increased level of reliability of the new version. Even in the event of damage to one of the engines, the equipment is capable of making not only a safe landing, but also takeoff.


The Ka-32A11M is a universal machine and is ideal for solving a wide range of aviation tasks – from transport and cargo to emergency rescue. Its maneuverability and stability in hover mode allow the equipment to be effectively used in open terrain, as well as in terrain limited by mountain ranges and dense urban development.
