Sales of the updated model start tomorrow motorcycle BSA Gold Star 650. The first to be available will be Indian riders. But this bike is also designed for the global market.


Prices for the updated BSA Gold Star 650 are already known. For this single-cylinder motorcycle with a 650 cm3 liquid engine you will have to pay 270 thousand rupees (298 rubles). In Russia, only carburetor small-capacity models made in China are offered for this amount.

Despite the fact that the BSA brand is British, it was bought by the Mahindra & Mahindra concern back in 2016. But Gold Star 650 was created by the British. The Indian owners immediately set their sights on the international market, so they attracted renowned companies to develop the model.


The bike was developed by Redline Studios, and the frame was designed by Ricardo engineers. Both brands are based in England.

The engine of the motorcycle is Austrian – licensed from Rotax. And this step was not taken because of an attempt to save money. It’s just that they haven’t made serial power units for bikes in the UK for a long time. And Rotax is a well-known and proven brand.

By the way, the management of Mahindra & Mahindra even seriously considered the large-scale assembly of the BSA Gold Star 650 in England. But this idea was eventually abandoned - production in India, even taking into account delivery, is much cheaper.

Externally, the updated motorcycle has remained almost unchanged. It's still the same classic as in 2022. It is only stated that the bike will become even more reliable, plus new color shades will appear.

Otherwise, everything is the same - round headlight, spoked wheels, semi-analog dashboard. The latter looks classic in appearance, but has small electronic windows on the tachometer and speedometer.


The engine of the motorcycle is 652 cm3. Its power is small - only 45 hp. With. But this is enough for a classic, and the low degree of boost guarantees a long service life of the power unit. The bike has a five-speed gearbox. Naturally, mechanical. Rear wheel drive is chain.

The front fork is BSA Gold Star 650 telescopic and there are two shock absorbers at the rear. All this is generously covered with chrome. The wheels are spoked, no alloy wheels, as befits the classics, not even optional.

But the braking system is serious. Not only is it disc, but it’s also from Brembo. Combined ABS is included in the basic package. So you don’t have to worry that the motorcycle won’t be able to stop at high speed or the wheels will skid.
