And why not buy an old truck, especially since it can be transformed into an elegant motorhome with a “flick of the wrist”? More precisely, it should be immediately converted into a yurt on wheels, and only then set off on a trip. In his video, the author of the Technologist channel decided to check which special equipment will show its best side. The battle will involve a Mercedes UNIMOG and a couple of GAZ-66s.

“Shishiga” has never been considered a model of comfort for driver and passenger, but its cross-country ability is legendary. As for the Mercedes UNIMOG, only a few Russian drivers could test this German truck. Therefore, it is difficult to say anything specific about him. It is believed that the car is the best in its class, but it is one thing to say so, and another to launch it into the Russian snow. Of course, in Unimog the conditions for the driver and passenger are better - no one argues with that. But who will be the leader in cross-country ability? And yes, the GAZ-66 will still be the winner, no matter how the impromptu competition ends. It’s just that this truck is tens of times cheaper, which eliminates the disadvantages for most Russian off-road enthusiasts.
