Babro Yachting – yachts instead (and much more expensive) of a dacha

When it comes to yachts that combine elegance, high quality workmanship and comfort, the name of the Dutch company Babro immediately comes to mind. Its vessels are by no means just means of sailing from point A to point B. They are symbols of luxury and style, the embodiment of the dream of water travel. Yes, it’s expensive, but you can even live in some yacht models from the Babro brand!

Briefly about the company

The Dutch shipyard Babro Yachting is probably familiar to everyone who has both the money and the opportunity to buy a steel motor yacht. For more than 40 years, the company has been based in the town of Sneek, in the province of Friesland, on the seashore.

By the way, this is the small homeland of the famous Dutch pirate, known by the name Pierre Gerlofs Donia and nicknamed Big Pierre Donia.


All Babro yachts are manufactured exclusively in the Netherlands in their own facility, which is maintained by local staff. More than half of the assortment is represented by classic yachts, on which the “imprint” of the Dutch shipbuilding school is noticeable.

Current model range

During its work, the Babro Yachting shipyard has developed over 20 yacht models. Of course, not the entire model range will be released in 2024: many modifications are obsolete. But they have been replaced by new, modern and comfortable options. Let's look at them below.

Babro Tridente

Tridente is a motor family yacht designed to make the most of all available space. For example, the salon and large cockpit are on the same level.

The designers managed to use every square centimeter to their advantage. Of course, a variety of layouts are possible, including two and three cabin options with luxurious baths and showers.

The length of the steel body is 13,2 meters. The yacht, weighing 20,5 tons, is powered by just one diesel engine, but its power is 150 hp. With. A fuel tank with a volume of 800 liters is responsible for autonomy. They did not forget to provide a built-in container for 600 liters of clean water.


The maximum speed of the yacht is 16 km/h. Yes, a little, but you won’t want to rush, since you obviously won’t want to get off board such a comfortable ship.

If you reduce the speed to cruising 10 km/h, you can sail up to 1400 km on a full tank of diesel fuel.

In sunny weather, you can push the top of the cockpit open at the touch of a button to create an “open” sailing experience. If the weather suddenly turns bad, the electric drive will return everything as it was.

The swim platform on both sides provides access to the spacious cockpit. The comfortable and spacious seating area can accommodate up to 6 people at the same time, and everyone will be comfortable.


Tridente comes standard with a range of convenient accessories and extras. We are talking about a washing machine, a deck washing installation, central heating with heated water for household needs. For many manufacturers, all this is only in the form of options.

Babro New Line

There are three current models in this series with lengths of 11,5, 12,9 and 14,9 meters, respectively. They do not have beautiful indexes, but this is fully compensated by the beauty of the internal equipment.

As such, there are few fundamental differences between the models, so we will consider in detail only the middle option, the motor yacht 1290, and briefly touch on the other two similar modifications.

New Line 1290

The most compact yacht from the current model range still seems gigantic, and this is so. This is a typical example of classic Dutch steel construction with a distinctly modern design.

Smooth lines, polished steel, expensive wood – in none of the current models the brand skimps on materials, including finishing materials such as paint and varnish.


The New Line 1290 is powered by a 110-horsepower Volvo Penta D3 diesel engine. It is powered by a diesel fuel tank with a capacity of 800 liters. The vessel weighs 16 tons, which is less than Tridente, which means you can count on even greater autonomy.


Among the equipment, I would like to highlight such features as atmospheric LED lighting for the cockpit, a large wardrobe, and well-thought-out supply ventilation. The kitchen has a 4-burner gas stove with oven and microwave, large refrigerator with freezer, hot water and furniture. Separately worth noting is the luxurious bathroom with shower. Indeed, you can live here.

New Line 1150 and 1500

There are no fundamental differences between the 1500 model and the New Line 1290 discussed above. You can only notice a different color of the steel body and an increased length to 14,9 meters. Of course, this affected the capacity for the better.

There is also a smaller version with index 1150. As you might guess, its body length is 11,5 meters. Otherwise there is no difference.

Babro Classic Line

The Babro Classic line consists of multihull motor yachts designed for rough waters. Space, luxury and freedom of movement create an atmosphere of relaxation and maximum comfort. In addition, there are all the necessary amenities on board for a long stay.


Babro Classic yachts are available in four sizes. These are models 1150XL, 1260, 1400 and 1500. Depending on the dimensions, the capacity of the vessel ranges from 6 to 8 people, while the number of sleeping places remains unchanged - 4.

As in more expensive models, there is a fully equipped shower and kitchen with a dining area, hot water (there are two 250 liter tanks for storing it).

Briefly about old Babro

Although some yacht models are no longer in production, used models are still very popular on the secondary market and look great for their age and sea miles.

The point here is that the service life of a Babro vessel is practically unlimited, provided it is well maintained. Therefore, the new owner can enjoy the yacht in the same way as someone who bought it in new condition.

There are several models that are no longer in production, but can still be purchased. Among them we note:

✅ Beluga OK 1100. Yacht 11,2 meters long with a spacious cockpit, two benches, easy access to the salon and galley. There is a shower and toilet in the bow, and there is a full sleeping cabin with a separate bed and wardrobe. There is an 83 hp engine on board. With.
✅ Kruiser AK 1120. The 11,2-meter yacht weighing 12,6 tons offers very similar equipment to the Beluga OK, including the level of comfort in the cabin. There are 4 permanent beds and 2 additional beds for guests. It has an 80-horsepower diesel engine with a fuel consumption of 4 liters per hour. The fuel tank holds 610 liters of diesel. Maximum speed – 15 km/h.

Finding current prices for yachts from the secondary market is not easy, since they are not on sale very often. However, it can be compared with the cost of competitors with similar equipment and dimensions.


For example, an 11,5-meter yacht Nimbus 380 Commander, produced in 2004, sells for an average of 195000 euros, or about 20 million rubles at the current exchange rate. Obviously, new Babro models cost even more money, and amounts in the region of 30-40 million rubles or more should not surprise anyone.
