
What do Russians think about February car prices?
The city where the most expensive cars were sold in the first month of the current year was Moscow. On average, the price of one car in the capital - 1 million 498 thousand rubles. On the other side of the rating is the Voronezh region. The cheapest cars were sold here, the cost of which was about 470 thousand rubles. Rostov and Tyumen regions also have a low check. These are 597 thousand and 610 thousand rubles, respectively. Krasnoyarsk Krai and Chelyabinsk are not too far behind them. Here, the average cost of buying a car is 622 and 000 rubles.
In terms of the most expensive cars, Tatarstan occupies the second place: 1 million 221 thousand rubles were spent there on the purchase of one vehicle. The 3rd place is taken by the Kemerovo region, the 4th by the Vologda region (1 million 221 thousand and 1 million 177 thousand rubles). At the very bottom of the top five was St. Petersburg, where the purchase of one car on average cost 1 million 110 thousand rubles.
Muscovites, residents of the Northern capital, the Samara region and the Krasnodar Territory usually bought cars through SberAvto. Approximately two thirds of vehicles (66%) were purchased on credit. Most of the banking services were used in the Moscow and Tyumen regions, as well as Bashkiria and the Krasnodar Territory. According to SberAvto, such brands as Lada Granta, Kia Rio, Nissan, and Hyundai Solaris were most often purchased through the service. Of the Chinese cars, the best-selling SUV Chery Tiggo 8 Pro was in demand.
If you look at the general state of the Russian car market, it becomes obvious that the year began with a drop in sales. Although there is nothing unexpected here. January is traditionally a low demand month. Sales of passenger cars fell by 3,7%, commercial - by 15%. The last result is associated with a decrease in business activity during the New Year holidays. And one more trouble came along with 2022: an import duty of 15% was returned to electric cars. Accordingly, this will lead to an increase in the cost of a battery-powered car for the end consumer. And what do motorists think about the purchase and prices of new cars?

SberAuto conducted a survey to find out from the Russians which models they want to buy the most during the coming months. The most anticipated new product was the 5th generation Kia Sportage. 15% of respondents voted for the crossover.
