Updated electric cars Volvo C40 and XC40 will go on sale in the summer of 2022

The Swedish (Chinese?) manufacturer has announced the start of sales of an updated version of the only electric car in the XC40 line, as well as the appearance of its simplified modification. A new product will also appear – a version of the C40, which is based on the CMA architecture.


The share of electric vehicle sales in 2021 is 2,8%. Taking into account the fact that due to the shortage of electronic components, the delivery time was up to 11 months, and there is only one model, this is an acceptable indicator.

Previously, the XC40 was all-wheel drive with a pair of electric motors producing a total of 408 hp. With. Despite the fact that cars with an updated design will appear in May 2022, only they are available to customers. All units of the current model generation are sold out.

As for the dimensions, both modifications are almost the same from the outside. But inside there are differences primarily due to the C40's coupe-like silhouette. Rear passengers taller than 190 cm and more will be uncomfortable, the view is also not the best. In the classic body, these problems are not.



The quality of interior trim in both models is excellent, the Swedish manufacturer adheres to its standards. The infotainment system with software from Google deserves special attention. In terms of dynamic performance, the C40 is comparable to premium electric cars. Acceleration to 100 km / h takes 4,7 seconds, the car feels confident on the road and gives an excellent driving experience.
